CRM Butler works by talking directly to your CRM, so setting up a connection is the first thing you'll do. Until a connection is in place, the rest of the app stays locked.
What you'll need
For Ontraport, you'll need two pieces of information from your account: an API key and an App ID. Both are generated inside Ontraport, and you'll paste them into CRM Butler to complete the connection.

How your credentials are stored
Your API key and App ID are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they're saved — the same standard used to protect banking and healthcare data. They're never stored as plain text and never visible once saved.
Using more than one connection
You're not limited to a single connection. You can create as many as you need, even to the same CRM account.
This gives you two ways to set your team up:
One shared connection — everyone on the team works through the same connection. Simplest option, and a good default for smaller teams.
Separate connections per member — assign different connections to different team members. Useful when you want to keep activity separated or manage access more tightly.
